Counselling in Brighton & Hove | Online Across the UK

Gary Jessop – Compassionate Support for Adults

Welcome - I'm glad you're here.

I'm Gary Jessop, a professional counsellor based in Brighton and Hove, working across Sussex and online throughout the UK. I provide counselling for adults in a calm, confidential space where you can slow down and feel genuinely heard.

Whether you're experiencing anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, grief, or simply a sense that something feels "off," you don't have to navigate it alone.

Face-to-face sessions take place at:

Float Spa

125 Church Rd, Hove, BN3 2AN

Individual Counselling for Adults

Working with both women and men's adults

I offer:

  • Face-to-face counselling in Brighton and Hove
  • Online counselling across the UK
  • Telephone sessions
  • Walk and Talk therapy
  • Flexible short-term or longer-term work

Counselling with me isn't about fixing you. It's about creating space to pause, reflect, and understand what's happening in your life — at your own pace.

Counselling for Men | Men's Support in Brighton & Hove

I offer dedicated counselling for men, supporting men's health and men's wellbeing in a grounded and relatable way.

Many men seek therapy for:

  • Work-related pressure
  • Burnout
  • Isolation
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Emotional overwhelm
  • Feeling disconnected or stuck

Opening up can feel unfamiliar. My role is to provide a steady, confidential space where you can talk openly, without judgement or pressure.

The Men's Compass Room – Men's Support Group (Hove)

Alongside one-to-one counselling, I created The Men's Compass Room.

What I've seen in men's counselling sessions is that many men experience isolation, work pressure, or become so wrapped up in life that they lose meaningful connection.

The Men's Compass Room is:

  • A safe, confidential space for men
  • Honest, unfiltered conversation
  • A chance to be heard
  • A way to build connection and community

While it is not a formal counselling session, being part of a group of men sharing experiences often brings its own sense of support and therapy in its own right.

Also includes:

  • Men's Circle (1st Monday of the month – The Float Spa, Hove)
  • Men's Pickleball Social (3rd Tuesday – Hove Beach Tennis Courts)

The aim is simple: to create a space where men can come together, reflect, talk about what matters, and feel less alone.

Walk and Talk Therapy – Brighton Seafront & South Downs

For both men and women

Walk and Talk counselling offers a flexible, outdoor approach. We may meet at The Float Spa and walk towards the sea, or begin at the Dyke and explore the South Downs.

Walking side by side can feel:

  • Less intense than sitting face-to-face
  • Grounding and spacious
  • Easier for those new to therapy
  • A natural fit for busy professionals

Walk and Talk therapy works well for both men and women, offering movement, fresh air, and conversation in a supportive and steady way.

Burnout Counselling & Support for Professionals

Brighton | Hove | Sussex

Modern life can be demanding. I offer specialist support for:

  • Burnout
  • Workplace stress
  • Corporate pressure
  • Emotional exhaustion

I also provide Corporate Wellbeing and in-house workplace counselling across Sussex — supporting staff mental health, morale, and sustainable performance.

When people feel supported, organisations thrive.

Bereavement, Grief & Loss Counselling

Grief does not only follow death. Loss can include relationships, identity, career change, or life transitions.

You don't need to rush your process. Counselling offers space to explore grief with warmth, patience, and respect.

Suicidal Thoughts & Crisis Support

If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, or have been affected by suicide, you are not alone.

Counselling can provide a safe, confidential space to speak openly about how you're feeling — without judgement, shame, or pressure.

Please note:

I am not an emergency counselling service, and it may take time to arrange an initial appointment.

If you need urgent mental health support right now:

  • Call Samaritans – 116 123 (24 hours a day, free in the UK)
  • Or text SHOUT to 85258

If you are in immediate danger, please call 999 or go to your nearest A&E department.

Reaching out for immediate support is a sign of strength.
